Hello,
I work for a MSP and we have two data centers connected via 100Mbps MOE. Data center A goes through the MOE to Data center B which has a 1Gbps pipe to the Internet. Both services are through CenturyLink.
Monday we started getting horrible and unreliable data transfer across the MOE as in 10-20Mbps, and oddly enough our upload is far better (40-60Mbps). I checked our edge switches (Cisco 4948's) and found no errors in the log or on the interfaces, and the connecting ports on both sides are static full/100.
I used jperf to test within each data center, and then across the MOE pipe to the other dc. Speeds were great within each DC, but across the MOE it dropped back down to 10-20Mbps. We then engaged CL and submitted a ticket which I included all the data I found by testing. Today they got back to us saying they found no problems so its on our end.
As a MSP we need that pipe to be operating at its full capacity, and I am out of ideas of where to look or how to get CL to take this seriously. Every time we submit tickets we get a notification about an hour later that they could ping the IP and therefore everything is working fine.
I would appreciate any help.
