So have 1Gig Fiber and Prism TV working at my place now. Decided to see if I could get my Asus RT-N66U working as the Modem and leave off the Century Link Technicolor C2100T. Did some testing have have some questions.
Is the Asus RT-N66U a superior router over the Century Link Technicolor C2100T? Tried to do some spec comparisons, but nothing stood out I could see.
Got the Asus RT-N66U working with the ONT and Prism TV. However, speed tests would only go up to 40-50MB down and 60-80MB up.
Plugging in the Technicolor C2100T and the same connection would report 500-800MB down and 700-900MB up.
Tried matching the ASUS setting as close as I could to the Technicolor, but could never get the Speed Tests to come close at all.
Anyone know if there's some 'hidden' settings in the C2100T that allow it to get such high results over the RT-N66U? Both devices reported being connected to the ONT at 1000MB.
If someone can get a ASUS router working on the Century Link 1Gig and get that speed please let me know. The wireless on the RT-N66U seemed much better than the C2100T, but couldn't achieve the download speeds for whatever reason.
