2015 GPON Discussion

So I wanted to start a new thread and consolidate FTTP GPON launch information and such into one thread. The official CenturyLink announcement for the 16 city gigabit launch came on August 5th, 2014. Here is the link to the news articles. >> http://www.dslreports.com/shownews/CenturyLink-Promises-1-Gbps-in-Parts-of-16-Cities-129953 Since then CenturyLink really hasn't mentioned much else in the way of expansion on this effort, but has said they are on target to connect 700,000 homes to GPON by the end of the year, with 600,000 being offered gigabit services at the end of the quarter ( http://www.fiercetelecom.com/story/centurylinks-post-new-credit-policy-will-enhance-consumer-broadband-growth/2015-08-05 ). They have hinted at wanting to official expand their gigabit markets in various investor conference calls and interviews,( http://www.dslreports.com/shownews/CenturyLink-Ambiguously-Hints-At-More-Ambiguous-1-Gbps-Launches-132630 ) but nothing has materialized even with the 2nd quarter 2015 conference call passing up. However this doesn't mean they aren't doing unofficial upgrades. However CenturyLink is fairly hush hush on where these upgrades are going in and when, unlike Google Fiber where you can just look at when they will be putting fiber to your neighborhood on a map. Some people have been attempting to map the speed upgrades using the website, I only know of a couple of maps and or articles. As I find more, I will add them to this list...
