Ok, so while I wait for CL to figure out the gigabit thing here in Tucson, the 40 meg service is actually quite cheap. Cheap enough that I can justifiy having the 40 meg service at the promo pricing for the year.
With everything already ran at my house the tech will have an easy job not doing anything. LOL So I am going to setup my ASUS AC66R up for dual wan, and I was hoping that I could set it up where I dont get charged the modem fee.
So A couple of questions. Do I need the C1000A modem? I had it bridged last time with my router with PPPOE and I asked for my username and password that the modem provisioned with. I still have that info.
I read somewhere that you dont even need the C1000A modem and you can have your router connected directly to the ONT via Vlan 2.
If this is the case what do I need to setup on the router to do this and what should I tell the tech who comes out to basically do the setup and make sure that light is getting to the ONT.
