Seems like a common problem with CenturyLink. I was a customer with them for a year and that ended about an year ago. I returned their leased modem through the return slip that they provided. Recently, I tried to start a service with them again (their 40 MBPS is best in the area) and I was advised by CenturyLink that they have no record of returned modem.
I had saved the tracking number for about 6 months just in case any issues happened. When I heard back nothing, I assumed everything was fine. If I had not called them to restart the service, I probably wouldn't even have found out about this!
Anyone else have the same issue? How did you deal with it?
