I am trying to get facetime to work with our new actiontec c1000a. We had some problems with the voice line, when the tech came out he offered to replace our old PK5000 with a new c1000a while he upgraded us to the local fiber node that had been added recently (rather than continue with the old PK5000 and the older straight to CO style dsl). He assured me everything would be the same - and it was - until a day later when I noticed facetime was broken.
I never had to forward ports or anything for it to work on the PK5000, but the firewall is blocking the packets now. I added the ports to the port forwarding rules, but the firewall blocks them like there are still no port forwarding rules.
The Log shows "Firewall drop: IN=br0 OUT=ppp0.1 SRC=192.168.0.11 DST=17.173.255.222 LEN=44 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=63 ID=9738 PROTO=UDP SPT=16403 DPT=16384 LEN=24 "
Am I misunderstanding how to make port forwarding work? It seems like it is set up correctly - but the firewall refuses to shut off. Even setting the IP address as a DMZ seems to have no effect on the firewall - and I thought the DMZ setting would just place the particular client outside the firewall completely
