I have an old Zxcel Quest Q100 modem, it has been running great on CenturyLink VDSL for years now. This morning I had no internet connection, and the modem was doing a LED blink code I had never seen before.
The power LED was red, not green, and the DSL LED was blinking yellow. DSL would blink yellow 3 times and after the third blink the red Power LED would blink off than come back on. Then the sequence would repeat.
I called CenturyLink tech support. They told me that the network looked fine (they always say that, even when the DSL is down) and that since I was getting this blink code my modem was defective and I needed a new one.
A couple of hours later the modem came back up and is working fine again.
I have searched on line for a Q100 manual but can't find one, only a few setup pages. Does anyone have the manual or know what these blink codes mean ? I want to know if the modem is going bad or it was just a temporary service outage.
