Dear fellow Centurylink users,
I live in the Seattle area and recently got a Centurylink DSL internet service (40MBPS download). The modem/router combo that I am using is the Actiontec C1000A. I've a Logitec Revue (Google TV) device wired to this modem and on the other end, the Revue is connected to the TV. In a perfect world, it should work, but it's not. It used to work just fine when I had Comcast cable internet before that had a D-Link modem. The problem is as follows:
The Revue is getting the power (i can see the power LED glowing). The Revue is connected to my LCD TV (Samsung) through a HDMI port. I should be able to see signal from Revue as I switch to the right HDMI source, but it's not. I have already tried resetting the modem, resetting Revue to original setting and have changed to other HDMI ports, but without any success.
My questions are:
1. Has anyone faced similar problems in the past? Is there any workaround?
2. Should I change the modem/router combo and switch to separate modem and router set-up? Any recommendations on what modem should work?
3. What's the best way to determine the problem? I am fairly tech savvy and don't mind getting my hands dirty running some tests :-)
I would very much appreciate your help!
Best,
Ski
