I currently live in a metro area just west of Denver, paying for a 40mb line and receiving 45-50mb speeds on average. As part of the new “price for life” package CenturyLink states I can upgrade to an 80mb line for the same price as my 40mb line, however I’d need to upgrade to a “premium modem” in order to see better speeds. I’m running a Zyxel C1100Z bridged with the radio off. I’m wondering if another modem would truly provide better speeds than my C1100Z at this point, or if it is giving me the best the line would otherwise have. Looks like C2100T’s get love around here, is that my best option for 80mb if the upgrade is worthwhile?
