Well guys, ever since we switched to 40/5 the service has been disconnecting a few times each week. When we were on ADSL it was very rare to have disconnects, mostly rock solid for the past 5 years or so. We live in a rural area and I happen to be the local communities tech out here and I know my household is the only one with VDSL. Anyway, my new C1000A (Nov 2012 built) has been getting lots of CRC errors etc ever since VDSL was enabled, however yesterday the service went down yet again and stayed down for almost 6 hours. When I called tech support a recording stated they were aware of the issue and were working on it. I decided to call my neighbor since I am his tech when ever he needs one and he still had internet. It appears only the VDSL goes out here and not the ADSL. Is this normal? Are they just trying to improve VDSL and are purposely shutting it down every now and then for maintenance? VDSL has only been in this neighborhood a few months tops so I am wondering if they are just working out the kinks.
Anyway, the reason for this thread is because the internet has been up now a while and I noticed the service seems MUCH cleaner now. NO CRC Errors to be seen, but I still have "30 minute FEC" coming up. How do these numbers look to you? I know its only been 14 hours but I usually get plenty of CRC errors etc way before then. Oh, and we are still not getting the full 40/5, its more like 37/3. Thanks
P.S. Not sure why the images are on the top and not under my text. Sorry...
