I submitted a thread here around May 2011 and mooch and billaustin where able to help me get things working. I have a DSL-N10 that has been working great for aout two years now. I use it to connect to Centurytel DSL. Yesterday the internet connection stopped working. I rebooted the dsl unit serveral times but it didn't fix the issue. I re-entered my dsl username and password in the wan configuration page and that didn't fix the issue. I called Centurytel and they stated that they did not see any issues with internet connection in my area. I had the latest firmware already downloaded so I went ahead and upgraded that on the unit but that did not fix the issue. I reset the unit to factory default, the unit detected the dsl connection, I entered in my credentials for Centurytel but still no internet. The DSL light comes on but the internet light does not come on.
I checked the log file of the connection and this is what is logged when the unti tries to make a connection:
Dec 31 18:18:25 pppd[347]: PPP session is 34630 (0x8746)
Dec 31 18:18:25 pppd[347]: Connected to 00:16:47:e8:23:38 via interface eth2.2.1
Dec 31 18:18:25 pppd[347]: Using interface ppp0
Dec 31 18:18:25 pppd[347]: Connect: ppp0 eth2.2.1
Dec 31 18:18:27 pppd[347]: Remote message: Authentication failure
Dec 31 18:18:27 pppd[347]: PAP authentication failed
Dec 31 18:18:33 pppd[347]: Connection terminated.
Dec 31 18:18:33 pppd[347]: Sent PADT
Dec 31 18:18:33 pppd[347]: Modem hangup
It looks like the unit is contacting the Centurytel DSL but the logon is failing. Any ideas?
