[Qwest] Slow Wired Speed on New C1100Z

Quick background: I have CenturyLink 20 Mbps DSL service. I had a Qwest M1000 modem for a long time (no wireless module) and a separate wireless router. CenturyLink's speed test shows I consistently connected at 17.5 Mbps via wired connection. The M1000 died and was replaced with a C1100Z about three months ago. I ditched the router and am using just the C1100Z. I've noticed pages on my wired desktop aren't as quick to load and some videos have buffering issues where I never experienced that before. CenturyLink's speed test shows I'm only getting 12.5-13.3 Mbps. If I'm lucky, I might hit 14 Mbps. Here's what puzzles me - my Wi-Fi connections easily get 15-16 Mbps at the far corners of the house. It's just my one wired connection I'm having problems with. Websites that load slowly on my desktop load much snappier on the Wi-Fi laptops in the house. For what it's worth, the desktop, laptops and one tablet all run Windows 8.1. The C1100Z reports an upstream rate of 20.120 Mbps (same as the old M1000). There have been no hardware changes on this computer. No new software. The only changes are monthly Windows security updates. Are there any settings on the C1100Z that I can tweak or is this something I need to call CenturyLink about? I've rebooted the modem, tried new cables and plugged into a different Ethernet port on the back. The C1100Z has the latest firmware (4.12.009.0). Thanks!
