So, every once in a while my speed slows down. (Usually after dinner time). Streaming grinds to a halt. Live TV freezes. Web sites take forever to load. Youtube videos stutter and buffer and barely run. Many other times the speed is fine. I have Centurylink DSL.
So I go to century link's speedtest and they invariably show give me a speed north of 6 Mbps or better. So I call Centurylink and they say everything looks fine on their end.
So I go to speedtest myself and start trying servers around the country. 2 M, 3 M, 1 M is what I get fro server after server. Next town over, in major cities, doesn't matter, nearly every other server shows sub-3 M or much worse.
How do I determine what is really going on? What do I do about it?
