I'm dealing with an off and on issue of some kind of interference turning my internet access off and on again. What often happens is that my downstream SNR will suddenly drop to 0, my modem (Actiontec C1000A) will lose the connection, spend minutes trying to regain it, then finally get a decent signal again... for an hour or two, then drop again. I'm not sure if it's an oversubscribed DSLAM, but I'd think the poor signal would be more consistent if that was the case.
It almost seems like a device has been turned on briefly, then off again. But I was wondering if there was a more advanced modem out there that would keep a log of line conditions, or some other telecom device I could use to get a long set of good data like this?
