We were just moving to a new apartment. It seemed simple enough. I called Century Link to transfer the service to the new place, gave them a date and...fell into endless darkness. Like a Max Payne nightmare of phone service, only with less screaming. When we got to the new apartment, nothing worked and they told us to buy another modem. A hundred bucks and multiple calls to tech support later, the voice mail would not work our email had vanished and the internet cut out randomly. Turns out they never turned the voice mail on, leaving Great Aunt Dot, who can't text, to think we're ignoring her. Meanwhile we keep getting odd bills from the previous account, for wildly varying amounts which no one can explain. One irritated customer service person simply told us not to pay since the amount was too insignificant for the company to take to small claims court (?)After a couple of months trying to get our email back we got upset enough to complain. They did volunteer to turn on voice mail on and we were transferred to....the sound of traffic on the highway. Just traffic, swishing past.
And we were polite!
Short version: complained, somebody stuck phone out window. Still laughing.
.
We've been paying for service we don't have for two months, and service we requested turned off as well. How do we resolve this? The highway was not helpful.
