Worked for years, 40/5, static IP block. Today cannot access internet. Modem reports good DSL connection and good ISP (CenturyLink). However, ping tests are unsuccessful and traceroute goes 2 hops and stops. Spent 2 hours on the phone and after escalating they are sending a technician to check the line. I noticed that after each reboot the clock starts at Jan 1, 0:00 am. Not sure about the year. Is it possible that a wrong clock may interfere with routing? There doesn't seem to be a way to set the clock manually. Any insights? The technical support tends to say that they don't support static blocks. I am connected by wire and do ping tests using modem interface.
