I just moved into a new apartment in Spokane that got Gig fiber from centurylink and just got the service installed today. Originally I was planning on using my TP-Link Archer C7 router with the service instead of the CL provided C2000T.
After reading some posts online about CL using PPPoE and Vlan Tagging i flashed the router with an OpenWRT firmware to have Vlan functionality.
I set the wan interface to a custom "eth0.201" vlan tag and we tried almost everything we could think of and double checked the credentials and we could not get it to connect. i also tried resetting the mtu to 1496.
install tech was on the phone with GPON techs who also disabled VLAN on the ONT and it still didn't seem to want to work, so im not really sure whats going on.
Anyone else here have experience using their own router with the CL Gig service?
I'm currently using their router but want to get mine working so i don't have to pay extra for it.the service seems to be working well so far:
