Hey guys, I live in Seattle's Central District and have been having some issues with the Wave Broadband nodes being overcrowded so I'm looking into CenturyLink Fiber. For Example the pricing looks like this: 1G + Home Phone $124.95 3 year price guarantee 1G Internet $109.95 100Mbps + Home Phone $94.95 3 year price guarantee 100Mbps $69.95 40Mbps + Home Phone $74.95 3 year price guarantee 40Mbps $29.95 As my wife and I have cell phones that work just fine it looks like as it stands the there is no viable promo offer for me. When I begin the checkout process it says I can either Lease for 7.99/month or Purchase the "Advanced Wireless Network Modem" for $99.99 Also the installation is $59.99 "For one computer or device" or $99.99 for 2-5 computers or devices. My question is... If I currently am using an SB6183 with an Asus RT-AC3200 do I really need whatever they are selling? My understanding is the fiber cable is run to a box that is attached to my house then an Ethernet cable goes from that into my home. So can't I just plug in my own wireless router into that Ethernet run and choose PPPOE? Thanks for clarifying because their sales agent said I would actually need a phone jack on the inside of home house to hook their modem into because that's what carries the Fiber signal.
