I've been trying to send outgoing mail to port 587 at mail.hover.com for the past several weeks. The connection takes about 30 seconds before the mail is sent. I've been in touch with hover (Tucows) and they've tried all kinds of things to resolve this...but nothing works. Same results on two different computers in different locations, but both connected to Centurylink DSL in Brownsboro, TX. I also tried connecting from an iPhone using a WiFi connection via both of these Centurylink DSL lines...same problem. But using the iPhone if I connect via AT&T cell tower it works fine. Also tried to TELNET into the server and it takes 30 seconds to get a response.
I'm concluding that this must be something with the ISP (Centurylink). Anyone else have this problem? Perhaps Joey can help.
