I've had CenturyLink for a little over a year and a half now. I've always had their "Pure Broadband" internet-only service and nothing else - no voice and no Prism TV. I have a 25/2 connection, which is pair bonded. My bill is always $62.65. I received my latest bill today, and it's $84.48 - and I'm confused as to what's going on. I'm usually charged a base price of $71.96 with a $20 "Adjustment" that brings it down to $51.96. Taxes, fees, surcharges, and modem rental bring it up to $62.65.
The bill I got today charges me a base price of $51.96 for internet with no "Adjustment". Taxes, fees, surcharges, and modem rental bring it up to $62.65. Then they're charging me a base price of $19.84 for a residential line "with outbound call block." Taxes bring that up to $21.83 - for a total of $84.48.
I've NEVER had voice service with CenturyLink, and don't understand why they're charging me for voice service all of a sudden. I haven't made/asked for any changes to my services or spoken with them about anything. When I log into my account on the web site and click on the Phone tab, it tells me to call an 800 number to add phone services - so according to the web site I have no voice services with them. My house was brand new when I moved in. CenturyLink ran a special line and installed a jack in one room just for the internet, which has nothing but the modem connected to it. The two phone jacks that were installed by the home builder are completely dead. They were never connected to CenturyLink and don't have dial tone or anything at all on them.
I'll be going to the CenturyLink office when they open to talk with them about it, but was just curious if anyone on here had any thoughts/ideas/suggestions on any of this weirdness. I don't really have any other options for internet, so I'm stuck with CenturyLink.
