New and have questions (bonded DSL)

Hello all, I live North of Orlando in the Sorrento, Florida area, we currently have 10MBPS DSL and using the speedtest.net site I typically get just below 8.00 to 8.11 download and 0.76 upload speeds. Recently I became aware of a bonded DSL line, the customer service rep said it requires a tech to hook it up, a new modem and I should see double my current speeds. I have seen the modem chart: http://internethelp.centurylink.com/internethelp/modem-compatibility-table-ctl.html is it correct to assume with a bonded DSL setup that only the modems shown that have specs under the "bonded" heading are one's that can be used? I know I have to either rent the modem or buy it, and I have read where people buy their own online. Would I be better off to get the bonded 15 MBPS service and see what modem they give me before getting my own? I see a lot of posts on here where people are getting the 40/5 speeds, is this where they use fiber optic? The fastest speed available here is 15/1.5 Do all the Centurylink modems for the Bonded DSL include wireless capability? A tech that was at my home the other day told me probably within a year or so they will be running fiber optic to the box out front of our community and higher speeds as well as Prizm TV will be available, but no idea when, we were looking into the bonded line as my step daughter will be working from home and needs 1.5 upload, we have a separate line for her, but I was thinking of upgrading to the higher speed for my line as well Thanks
