Hello.
I just moved into a new construction and got CenturyLink activated tonight. The issue is, i've only been able locate 1 phone jack, and that's in the kitchen. The office does not have a phone jack, and that's where I need to install a jack for the modem.
Attached are 2 pictures; 1 the underside of the phone jack. it has just the blue wires connected. and then 2) the NID.
My thought is to go to Lowes tomorrow, get 25 feet of Cat5 and use the 4th slot of the NID and wire the same colors as the existing first 3.
Then run the cable through the unfinished rafters and up to the wall of the office on the main floor. If i wire the new faceplate exactly like the one in the kitchen, will everything be fine?
I have tested tonight that everything connects fine using the kitchen jack.
Thank you very much for your insight.
~Eric
